💡 Trace's GDPR Compliance

Trace prioritizes your privacy and the protection of your data. We follow GDPR principles by being transparent and limiting data handling to what is necessary to provide the features you request.


  1. Data sent when you use AI features
    Trace sends only what is necessary to process your request.

    • Text you enter

    • Current date and selected date

    • If needed for your request: related event details (title, date)

    • Available calendars and reminders


  2. Purpose of processing

    • To understand your request and provide AI features such as creating, updating, summarizing, or organizing events and tasks.


  3. Third parties involved

    • Processing relay: Google Firebase Cloud Functions

    • AI providers: OpenAI (GPT family), Google (Gemini family)

    • Trace sends only what is needed to complete your request and does not transmit unrelated data.

  4. Third-Party Calendar Data Policy

    • Trace uses calendar data received from connected services (Google, Microsoft, Apple iCloud, CalDAV) solely to provide and improve the app's functionality.

    • Trace does not use this data for advertising, marketing, analytics unrelated to the app, AI/ML model training, or any purpose other than providing or improving the app's functionality. Trace does not transfer calendar data to third parties for advertising, marketing, AI/ML model training, or any purpose unrelated to providing the app's functionality. Third parties involved in processing (Google Firebase Cloud Functions, OpenAI, Google Gemini) receive only the minimum data necessary to fulfill the user's specific request and are prohibited from using the data for any other purpose.

    • Trace's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can revoke Trace's access to your calendar data at any time through each service's account settings.

  5. When data is sent and your consent

    • When you press the send button to run an AI feature, Trace informs you that data may be sent to third-party AI providers and asks for your consent before anything is transmitted.

    • If you do not consent, the AI request will not be sent and the AI feature will not run.


  6. Storage and retention

    • Trace does not operate its own servers for storing user data.

    • Data sent for AI processing is used only to fulfill your request and is not permanently stored by Corca after processing.

    • Content you choose to save in the app (such as memos) is stored on your device. If iCloud sync is enabled, it may be synced via Apple iCloud.


  7. Your rights

    • You can delete your data at any time within the app or through your iCloud settings.

    • We respect your GDPR rights, including access, correction, deletion, and restriction of processing.
